When we organize the data, sometimes we need to add a label number at the beginning of the data composed of multiple lines of text to distinguish the text of each line, so what methods can be used to add a number to the beginning of each line of the paragraph?

Method 1. Use excel spreadsheet software

First create a new blank table, then paste all the contents that need to be added into the "B" column of the table

Generally, when we paste in the table, each line of text will be automatically added to each line corresponding to the table.

Next, enter the number "1" in the first row of column "A", drag the small box in the lower right corner of the cell with the mouse, and drag it down until it is aligned with the last row of column "B".

The excel sheet will automatically increment the number in the first cell of the first row by 1 down row by row.

Then hold down the ctrl key to select all the contents of the two columns of A and B. In the floating menu, find the merged cells-mode and select "Merge by row". Finally, select the merged cells in column A again, and add the data of the serial number. Copy it out.

Of course, if you need to add a space between the serial number and the number, you can insert a new column between the two columns of "A"|"B", then set the character of the space, and copy the character text through the drop-down in the lower right corner of the first cell, and finally the same To do this, combine the three columns "A"|"B"|"C" of the table into one column to get the text after adding the serial number.

Method 2. Use the character list appending tool on this site

Open the text list generator tool on this site to create multi-line number numbers.

First we add the variable [@] or [@]-

Where [@] will be automatically replaced with the value generated according to the rules for setting options.

Then, set the arithmetic sequence, select 1 quantity, select the quantity that needs to generate serial numbers, and create the specified number of numbers.

Then open the character list appending tool, and copy the content that needs to be added to the text box

Then add the new content text box, copy the text of the numbered list just generated into it

Continue to select Add at the beginning and end in mode three, set it to add at the beginning of each line, and then select the "Add Text" button

The generated serial number can be added in front of each line of text that needs to increase the serial number.

Method 3. Use word document

Create a new blank word document

Then copy the text that needs to be added with a serial number, CTRL+A selects all the text on each line

Then find the Bullets and Numbering option in the upper menu bar or the right mouse button menu

We can click "custom numbering" in the bullets and numbering box to set the numbering style and when the starting number starts to increment

After setting the numbering format, select the "OK" button, and then press CTRL+A to re-select all the text and copy it to the stored text, and the serial number added in the word document can be automatically copied.
